Top 10 Ways to Make Money from Home

Updated: Nov 12, 2020

With the Quarantine and all the layoffs from Covid-19 a vast majority of people have been looking for alternative ways to make money or side hustles to supplement their current incomes or lack thereof. Here are my top ten ways to make money from home both during this quarantine period and for years to come afterwards. Whether you want to earn some side hustle money temporarily or if you’ve realized how much you love being at home while your office was closed and now you want to find a way to never go back to the 9-5 life, this list is for you.

If you’ve never heard of drop shipping its pretty simple concept. Basically, you’re creating a store where you’re selling products that from another vendor without actually ever touching the products. There are several types of Drop Shipping stores and models you can follow.

1. Create a Shopify Store

3. Sell on Amazon or Ebay

4. Create an Ecwid store and sell on your website, Facebook, or Instagram.

Everyone knows that one of the best ways to make residual income is by either being an author or a music artist where you’re getting paid over and over again for work you did once. The biggest hesitation everyone has is “how hard it is to get a book published” The good news is that thanks to Amazon its extremely easy to get a book published in todays world. Amazon/Kindle now allows you to have a “print on demand” style published book. Basically, all you have to is pick a topic that you’re extremely knowledgeable about, write it, format it correctly, buy an ISBN number, and then submit it to Amazon and Kindle. It’s that simple. Honestly. Amazon will then list the book for you, print it, and mail the physical copy of the book to the customer every time someone orders a copy. Additionally, you can list the same exact book on Kindle (An Amazon Company) and you’ll make money every time someone downloads the book.

YouTube is an amazing opportunity to make TONS of money through brand partnerships, ad revenue, and affiliate marketing. YouTube is however not fast money. It takes lots of time, Energy, and consistency to build and grow your YouTube channel. Which by the way, if you haven’t checked out our YouTube channel please give us a like and subscribe. There are tons of tutorials on YouTube on how to grow your channel if you need any assistance.

Start a Website or Blog

So maybe writing a whole book or being on camera isn’t your thing, but the good news is you can still write a couple articles online and earn money from that. There are literally countless ways to make money with a website. A few examples are Affiliate Marketing, Google Ads, Other ad revenue, selling products, drop shipping, print on demand, selling e-courses, selling other downloadable content, consulting, and so on. Basically, everything on this list, you can intertwine together on your website and make the most out every idea listed here.

You can find all the supplies you need on to make soaps, candles, or basically any other crafts you might be good at on Amazon, Wish, or AliExpress. You can then sell the products on Amazon, Ebay, Etsy, your own website, or even on Facebook marketplace. Soap is one thing that will always sell, especially considering the recent events of the pandemic and people FINALLY understanding how important it is to wash their damn hands. Etsy is great for homemade products while Amazon and Ebay are better drop shipping.

If you don’t know what affiliate marketing is, in its simplest form you are getting paid for driving sales to other people’s products. There are several major companies you can sign up with to start affiliate marketing the easiest and most common is the Amazon affiliate program. This is great because literally everyone buys from Amazon already, however the only downside is the payouts are pretty low for this particular program. It’s a little harder to make money from the other programs but the payouts are much higher. I personally recommend joining at the very least ClickBank, FlexOffers, or Share-A-Sale. There are literally thousands of websites and products you can promote some paying out as much as 100% of the sale price.

Join a Delivery App

Almost everyone has some sort of experience with this, so I’ll just quickly go over it. There are now tons of apps out there you can sign up to be a delivery driver for. You can choose to drive people around with apps like Uber or Lyft. You can deliver food around with apps like Waiter, DoorDash, GrubHub, UberEats or one of the many other apps out on the market. Additionally, you could choose to buy peoples groceries for them and deliver it to them with apps like Instacart, Postmates or Shipt.

Create an E-Course

So maybe during the quarantine you’ve decided to pick up a new skill or maybe with all your new down time you want to teach someone else some skill like the piano, drawing, how to buy and sell on the stock market or something else entirely. The good news is the days of taking up hours of your day and having countless strangers in your house to teach them piano are over. Now you can create a video course once and sell it over and over again. There are several different websites you can use to host your course and sell it for you such as Teachable, SkillShare, Click4Course, Udemy, Shaw Academy, or Coursera. (Note: this is not an exhaustive list there are many other websites to try.) Additionally, you could create a course and sell it on your own website or on Clickbank and pay someone else to promote it for you with and affiliate exchange program.

Make Use of Rebate Apps and Other Rewards Programs.

So this one won’t make you rich, but it will put some money back in your pocket every time you go shopping either online or in-store. Some of the best rebate apps out there are as follows:

1. Ibotta

6. ReceiptHog

9. Dosh

10. Checkout51

11. Drop

12. NCP Mobile

In addition to these apps you can also make use of Bank/ Credit Card Rewards and sign up bonuses to make some sweet easy cash. Just be careful to follow the rewards stipulations and not spend anymore money than is required to earn the sign-up bonuses otherwise you may end up costing yourself more money than you’re earning. One of my favorite Rewards cards is the Stash Debit card which rewards you with stock back every time you shop with it.

Additionally, just incase you’re not doing it already always join every single rewards program offered by the brands you buy from. No matter if it’s Sony Rewards, Disney Insiders, Coke Rewards, Restaurant.com, Google play points, Amazon rewards, UPHE rewards, Hotels.com, Dominoes, Pizza Hut, or even Wish if it has a rewards program join it. Those points add up fast and can lead to hundreds of dollars of free stuff over the years.

Like the rebates section, these websites likely will not make you rich like drop shipping or affiliate marketing could possibly do. However, these are a great way to make some extra money while your watching Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, Vudu, Fandango or whatever other digital service you might personally enjoy the most. In fact, some of them like InboxDollars or Swagbucks PAY YOU to try out service’s like Disney+

Some of the best Survey sites I’ve personally used are:

6. Coin

Bonus: Trading Stocks and Options

This one has a much higher inherent risk involved with it so it is not included in the list. However, for those willing to take the risk you can earn THOUSANDS of dollars in the stock market right now if you’re willing to learn what you need to know about the stock market and options trading. A good resource for learning about stocks is the Motley Fool (Click here to sign up) but there is are literally hundreds of videos on YouTube and other courses you can

sign up for to help you learn.

You can sign up to start trading Stocks and Options on Webull or Robinhood pretty easily

If you’re not quite ready to take the risk of trading stocks and options you can take some baby steps into the investing world with apps like Stash, Acorns or Qapital. With Stash you can buy micro shares to put in you personal invest portfolio or ROTH IRA, so you don’t have to spend the full $1,458 to buy a share of Google instead you can buy as little as $5 of Google and continue to let it grow over time. With Acorns and Qapital you choose your tolerance level (conservative/moderate/aggressive) and they will handle the investing for you. Just set it up to round up to the nearest dollar and it will automatically invest for you without you having to think about it.
